Description We are seeking an Accountant to join our team in Columbia, South Carolina. In this role, you will be tasked with maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and performing audits within our Government sector. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity. Responsibilities: Utilize accounting software systems for data entry and management Oversee the processing and organizing of accounts payable and receivable Implement ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning for efficient business process management Conduct regular audits to ensure financial compliance and accuracy Maintain balance sheet accounts, ensuring they reflect correct standing Utilize Tyler Technologies Munis for financial management Resolve customer inquiries related to financial matters Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary Ensure all accounting functions are performed in accordance with governmental regulations and policies. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Experience working in a government accounting role is preferred Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems Understanding of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems Familiarity with accounting functions including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Experience in auditing is an advantage Ability to manage Balance Sheet Account Familiarity with Tyler Technologies Munis software is a plus Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation Exceptional customer service skills, over the phone and in person, with our customers and internal departments Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
