Description Our client, a well-established distributor is looking for a experienced and proficient Controller to join their team. The Controller's role is pivotal in maintaining the financial health and strategic planning efforts of the organization, which includes overseeing all financial activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining robust internal controls. As the direct report to the President, the Controller will hold a crucial role in managing all financial operations of the company. This role will ensure precision in financial reporting, establish effective internal controls, and significantly contribute to the company's financial stability and strategic planning efforts. Responsibilities: Supervise the preparation and display of financial statements, confirm their compliance with accounting standards, and manage the processes at the end of each month and year. Craft and supervise annual budgets, refresh forecasts, and examine any discrepancies between the actual figures and the budget. Control cash flow and working capital and tweak cash reserves to secure effective cash flow administration. Establish and uphold robust internal controls, carry out routine audits, and confirm adherence to fiscal policies. Supervise the accounting of inventory, manage operations for precise inventory, and handle inventory valuation. Perform financial analyses to aid in decision-making, present insights into cost control and profitability, and back strategic planning. Mentor and lead the finance team, execute performance evaluations, and provide training and guidance. Supervise the establishment of budget procedures and prognostication of cash flow. Keep an eye on and analyze financial statements and the cost of goods sold (COGS). Employ forecasting and modeling abilities to back fiscal decision-making. Requirements Criteria: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred Minimum 5-7 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in the wholesale or distribution industry Proficient in accounting principles and financial regulations Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Proficiency in financial software, Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
