OverviewGCG is seeking a Director of Power Distribution & Battery Markets to join our Connectivity and Power Solutions division . As our Director of Power Distribution and Battery Markets, you will lead the charge in developing and executing an aggressive go-to-market strategy designed to target key customer accounts and drive growth in these critical sectors. In this leadership role, you will focus on expanding our presence and building meaningful relationships with existing customers while identifying and capturing new business opportunities that align with our strategic growth objectives.Your expertise will guide the analysis of submarkets, the creation of tailored service offerings, and the recommendation of pricing strategies that position us as a leader in the Power Distribution and Battery space. By driving new business development initiatives, you will play a pivotal role in achieving and exceeding our ambitious growth targets.In this dynamic position, your ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Commercial and Supply Chain leaders—will be key to optimizing resources and delivering measurable, sustainable results. Success in this role requires not just deep industry expertise but also a visionary mindset, strategic decision-making, and the ability to inspire and lead execution at all levels.We are open to remote candidates for this role however approximately 50% travel will be required for this position to attend trade shows and industry events and build relationships with internal stakeholders on our commercial teams. There is a strong preference for candidates located in the Eastern or Central Time zones to align with our commercial, marketing, and operations leadership teams.What you’ll do

Strategic Leadership : Develop and execute the Power Distribution and Battery market strategy, focusing on segment go-to-market strategy, growth initiatives, and prioritizing product and vendor programs aligned with market needs and customer insights

Go-to-Market Collaboration : Partner with the commercial leadership team to design marketing strategies, channel models, competitive analyses, and market research in alignment with the broader go-to-market strategy

Customer Engagement : Identify target customers within key segments and create compelling value propositions. Provide clear guidance to the sales team on product selection, addressing customer pain points, and implementing pricing strategies

Pricing Management : Oversee pricing strategy across product lines, ensuring alignment with growth objectives, customer retention, and margin optimization. Drive adoption of pricing changes to support business goals

Sales Support : Collaborate with the sales team on account planning, market/geographic planning, and forecasting. Advocate for business needs across the organization to enable effective growth in key segments

Revenue and Market Share Growth : Develop and execute targeted growth initiatives, including new product launches, cross-selling and upselling strategies, and service offering development to drive segment-specific revenue and market share growth

Market Opportunity Monitoring : Track major government, OEM, contractor, and stakeholder spending programs. Align internal resources to capitalize on new growth opportunities

Brand and Positioning : Work with the VP of Market Strategy to refine brand vision and positioning for selected products, in collaboration with the Digital & Marketing Communications team

Market Research Prioritization : Lead efforts to conduct market research and uncover customer needs and opportunities

Vendor and Stakeholder Coordination : Support strategic vendor relationships within the energy industry and submarkets in collaboration with the VP of Procurement

Industry Engagement : Build and maintain relationships with industry leaders, customers, and stakeholders in focused markets to enhance market influence and drive growth

What you’ll bring

Bachelor’s degree required

7 to 10 years of business leadership experience within manufacturing or industrial distribution, specifically focused on power distribution equipment; combination of experience in sales, marketing, and operational management strongly preferred

Experience with Salesforce CRM desired

Proficient with Microsoft Office and strong computer skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to connect effectively with diverse audiences

Strong collaboration skills, fostering teamwork and building productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Proven ability to mentor and coach team members in a supportive, team-oriented environment

Adaptability to change and comfort working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Experience working in data-driven business environments, with a keen attention to detail

Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%

Competitive annual compensation package ranging from $150,000 to $175,000 per year, commensurate with relevant industry and knowledge of the power distribution and battery markets
