All this, we do to provide an opportunity for a better future for all of our TEAM MEMBERS.We are looking for a Laboratory Manager for the Principe Columbia site that:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for all analytical tests performed for the facility
Responsible for scheduling all tests required in the facility
Responsible for working with outside labs for any test unable to be performed in house.
Develop and document all SOP protocols for the lab.
Oversee lab workflows from sample preparation through sample disposal.
Responsible for inventory management and budgeting for the lab
Responsible for the analytical portion of project management of new R&D projects.
Stay current on new analytical techniques and make recommendations for continuous improvements for the technical department.
Work with Technical manager on any analytical tests needed for R&D projects.
Responsible for the upkeep and calibration of all analytical instruments to ensure accuracy of results.
Support Technical Manager on any scientific supporting documentation concerning products produced.
Develop sampling protocols to ensure statistical confidence for things being tested.
Responsible for ISO lab certification, plus support for all 3 rd party audits.
Responsible for the managing of all the functions and personnel of the lab.
In the event the Lab Manager is absent the Technical Director will cover the absence.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Master’s degree in a life science with 5+ years’ lab experience; or a bachelor’s degree with 8+ years’ lab experience
Minimum 3 years supervisory experience in a lab setting.
HACCP certified
Ability to make technical decisions without guidance
Ability to multi-task
Must have excellent problem-solving abilities
Must have excellent communication skills
Must have excellent computer skills
Must be able to read and comprehend regulations, correspondence, instructions, rules and regulations as well as fill out forms and write reports.
Must have the ability to read, understand and report on published scientific literature
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Frequent sitting, standing and walking, which may be required for long periods of time
Maintaining composure in dealing with authorities, clients, staff and the public, occasionally under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations.
Must undergo and meet company standards for background and reference checks, controlled substance testing.
Required ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
Handling and being exposed to sensitive and confidential information.
May be exposed to stressful situations.
May be required to work additional hours/overtime without advance notice.
Seeing, hearing and speaking clearly in order to communicate effectively.
Occasional lifting and/or moving up to fifty (50) pounds unassisted.
