Product Formulation Maintenance Technician

The Product Formulation Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing maintenance and assisting in the operation of Product Formulation equipment. This includes all areas of Formulation equipment. The technician must demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot, setup, and operate all associated equipment pertaining to Product Formulation in support of the departments overall goals. Responsibilities :

Obtain and keep a good working knowledge of the formulation equipment and related equipment.

Troubleshoot equipment employing technologies such as sensors and PLCs.

Perform routine preventive and unscheduled corrective maintenance on formulation equipment.

Work with engineering and vendors to resolve complicated problems with a strong sense of urgency.

Support operations on a 7 X 24 hour basis and be available for emergency maintenance.

Assist the formulation technicians in the preparation and monitoring of the equipment as needed.

Initiate ideas to improve equipment performance.

Maintain complete and accurate documentation of activities.

Assist in the writing of Standard Operating Procedures and maintenance procedures for formulation equipment.

Assist in installation and validation of equipment.

Perform filter integrity test on air filters and document appropriately.

Participate in internal and external training programs as required.

Assist with product development activities as required.

Utilize the computerized maintenance management system to write work requests/orders and input all required information.

Perform verification of departmental logbooks as needed.

Follow written and verbal procedures as directed by the area leadership team.

Maintain a professional team-oriented working relationship with fellow employees.

Follow Standard Operating Procedures, good housekeeping practices, safety and health guidelines, and cGMP Guidelines.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 65 pounds of equipment, parts or supplies.

Ability to ascend or descend machinery using feet, legs, hands and arms up to 8 feet high.

Ability to maneuver into, around and out of machinery with limited access space.

Qualifications

Minimum of a high school diploma. Prefer Associates Degree in a technical field.

Prefer 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Prefer some computer experience.

Ability to read electrical, controls, and mechanical schematics and troubleshoot and repair these systems.

Ability to establish priorities and meet quality expectations.

Ability to participate and develop a team-oriented working relationship within the operation.
