Description There's currently a long-term contract / contract position available for an experienced Staff Accountant with Robert Half in the Non-Profit industry. As a Staff Accountant, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will have responsibility for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. In addition, you will support the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, review schedules for the reporting processes, and interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This position is very involved as it will produce Cash Flow projections, Budgets, and Financial Statements. Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management
Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Keep up fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
Organize capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Partake in annual closing processes
Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments Requirements - Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Skillful in analytical, quantitative and social skills
Deep understanding of bank reconciliations
Comprehensive knowledge of financial reporting
Sage Intacct experience preferred
experienced organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in ERP systems
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
