We are seeking an energetic and results-driven Sales Representative to develop and grow their own sales territory in a customer facing role. In this role, you will maintain relationships with existing customers while attracting new clients to drive business growth. As an ambassador for Valley Cooperative Association (VCA), you will become a trusted face for both members and customers, ensuring alignment with company values and policies. You will leverage your interpersonal and relationship-building skills to provide top-notch service and support to customers, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders as needed. Key Responsibilities:
Build and nurture strategic relationships with assigned and target customers through sales calls, events, prospecting, and customer entertainment.
Regularly communicate with current and potential customers, promoting products and services, providing solutions, and managing account activity.
Achieve and surpass sales metrics within the designated target market.
Assess and manage the sales funnel to ensure accurate sales planning and attainment.
Identify, forecast, and present opportunities and quotes to customers.
Understand and promote VCA programs while developing portfolio programs, including deals, promotions, and contracts for customers.
Execute and track performance objectives and KPIs to ensure sales goals are met.
Document customer contacts, needs, and maintain a proactive calendar for efficient time management.
Utilize sales tools to maintain accurate customer information and sales activities.
Submit regular reports on sales activity into CRM software and keep updated records for leads and customers.
Create and implement sales strategies that align with personal goals and company objectives.
Represent VCA professionally and effectively communicate its value and benefits.
Assist in identifying new prospects while refining existing customer target lists.
Collaborate with internal teams, including Marketing, Purchasing, Accounting, Transportation and Warehouse to ensure a seamless customer experience.
Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and values, ensuring good stewardship of the cooperative.
Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing preferred, equivalent considered.
Proven experience in consultative account management and understanding of the sales process.
Strong commitment to excellent customer service and satisfaction.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with customers and suppliers.
Highly organized with strong time management skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and capable of using ERP and CRM software.
Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment.
Physical & Mental Requirements:
Approximately 20% overnight travel required monthly.
Must hold a valid driver’s license and be able to drive.
Work is primarily sedentary in an office environment, but customer visits may require sitting, standing, or walking for extended periods.
Ability to solve customer complaints and address inquiries efficiently.
Analytical skills to evaluate market potential and prioritize sales efforts.
