Staff Accountant

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant within the Service industry, based in Greenville, South Carolina. The chosen candidate will be part of a team, working mainly in the office with potential for hybrid working arrangements. The role primarily involves managing financial statements, analyzing and reconciling accounts, and navigating through contracts and requests for proposals.Responsibilities: Analyze and reconcile credit card and balance sheet accounts. Prepare and complete financial statements, ensuring timely payments. Review and process contracts and requests for proposals (RFP's). Oversee and manage accounts payable (AP) and receivable (AR). Perform general ledger functions and journal entries. Participate in the month-end close process, including a four-day close procedure. Utilize software systems such as QuickBooks, SAP, and Lawson for accounting tasks. Collaborate with team members to transition from Lawson to SAP system. Conduct analytics to support business decisions. Maintain and update customer credit records accurately and efficiently. Requirements Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field. Minimum of one year of experience in accounting or a related field. Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). Experience with Bank Reconciliations. Knowledge of General Ledger maintenance. Ability to prepare Journal Entries. Experience with Month End Close procedures. Proficiency in QuickBooks, SAP, and Lawson software. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines. Knowledge of standard accounting principles and procedures. Must have legal right to work in the United States.
