Required:
· RDH License for South Carolina
· Current X-Ray Certificate
· Annual OSHA, HIPAA
· Current N2O Monitoring Certification
· Current CPR Certification
Responsibilities for Dental Hygienist:
· Perform dental hygiene services and procedures, including dental prophylaxis, scaling, fluoride, sealants and root planning.
· Complete a thorough assessment of the patient’s teeth, bone and periodontal tissues, as well as document any abnormalities or suspected conditions.
· Customize care to meet patient’s oral health needs.
· Educate patients on home care – practicing good oral hygiene techniques.
· Aid the dentist with procedures and emergencies, as needed.
· Maintain patient confidentiality.
· Provide all care in conjunction with accepted professional dental practices and standards.
· Perform patient screening procedures, including x-rays.
· Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
· Document dental hygiene services by recording vital signs and medical/dental histories and charting in patient records.
