Berliner Seilfabrik, an award-winning manufacturer of contemporary, commercial-grade playground equipment, is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated individual to join its growing company. Candidates must have at least 3 years of work experience in industrial craftsmanship and at least 1 year of experience operating a forklift. The bigger part of the responsibility includes working with steel, aluminum, and wood materials to create parts for products. The use of heavy machines such as industrial table saws, crimping devices, drilling machines, and other tools will be taught, but generic experience with similar fabrication environments is required. The remaining part of the job responsibility includes helping manage a small warehouse, loading and unloading trucks and shipping containers, performing small repair tasks, etc.
Responsibilities:
Use a forklift, palette jacks, and other equipment to unload and load trucks and shipping containers.
Organize warehouse space and manage inventory.
Utilize a table saw to cut steel tubes.
Utilize manual and power tools to treat the cut-off edge.
Utilize a crimping machine on the tubing.
Utilize a heavy drilling machine to drill holes into thick aluminum balls.
Package finished goods and make them ready for shipping.
Check the quality of supplied parts and products.
Repair wooden crates and palettes as needed.
Small repair/maintenance tasks in the warehouse as well as office space.
Order crates and other packaging material.
Prepackage maintenance kits for customers.
Putting catalogs and brochures together.
Utilize MS Excel or other software to keep track of inventory.
Communicate with sales office team about current orders and timeframes.
Communicate via email and phone with suppliers and forwarders.
Additional Qualifications and Skills:
Must have some welding experience.
Ability to handle a forklift, a palette jack, and similar equipment.
Experience with basic tools including power drill & grinder
Ability to accurately read tape measures and blueprints.
Ability to work with hands in a standing position.
Ability to work in a hot warehouse environment.
Work accuracy, clean ethic, and attention to detail.
Good verbal and written communication.
Problem-solving and organizational skills.
Must work well under tight deadlines and in high-pressure situations.
