Lead Mover/Driver

Job Title: Lead Mover

Reports To: Operations Manager

Location: Wellford SC/Mauldin SC

The Lead Mover is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the moving crew, ensuring the safe and

efficient packing, loading, transportation, and unloading of clients' belongings. The Lead Mover serves

as the main point of contact between the moving crew and clients, ensuring high levels of customer

satisfaction through excellent service and effective communication.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Team Leadership:

Lead and supervise a team of movers, ensuring all team members understand their

roles and responsibilities.

Assign tasks and delegate responsibilities to team members based on their strengths

and skills.

Provide training and guidance to new and existing team members to improve their

skills and efficiency.

2. Customer Interaction:

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during the moving process.

Conduct pre-move meetings with clients to understand their specific needs and

expectations.

Address client concerns and resolve any issues that arise during the move, ensuring a

positive customer experience.

3. Move Planning and Coordination:

Plan and coordinate all aspects of the move, including scheduling, route planning, and

resource allocation.

Ensure all necessary moving supplies and equipment are available and in good

condition.

Conduct site assessments at both the origin and destination locations to identify

potential challenges and plan accordingly.

4. Safety and Compliance:

Ensure all team members adhere to safety protocols and company policies to prevent

accidents and injuries.

Conduct safety briefings and equipment checks before each move.

Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to moving

operations.

5. Packing and Loading:

Oversee the proper packing, wrapping, and protection of clients' belongings to prevent

damage during transit.

Ensure efficient and secure loading of items onto the moving truck, optimizing space

and weight distribution.

Handle fragile, valuable, and heavy items with care, using appropriate equipment and

techniques.

6. Transportation and Unloading:

Drive the moving truck, ensuring safe and timely transportation of clients' belongings to

the destination.

Oversee the unloading of items, ensuring they are placed in the correct rooms as per

clients' instructions.

Assist with unpacking and reassembly of furniture and other items as needed.

7. Documentation and Reporting:

Complete all necessary paperwork, including inventory lists, contracts, and client

receipts.

Maintain accurate records of hours worked, mileage, and any incidents that occur

during the move.

Provide regular updates to the Operations Manager on the status of moves and any

issues encountered.

8. Maintenance and Upkeep:

Ensure the moving truck and equipment are clean, well-maintained, and in good

working condition.

Report any maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions to the appropriate

personnel for prompt resolution.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience in the moving industry, with a minimum of 1 years in a supervisory role.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Physical ability to lift and carry heavy items for extended periods.

Knowledge of safe moving practices and techniques.

Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Working Conditions:

The role involves physical labor, including lifting, carrying, and moving heavy items.

Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, in various weather conditions.

Travel to client locations is required, with occasional overnight stays.
