Speedy On-Time Locksmith (Travelers Rest / Greenville, SC) is seeking an experienced Automotive & General Locksmith to join our team as a 1099 Independent Contractor. We’re flexible with scheduling and workload — you choose the types of jobs you prefer, whether that’s mainly car keys or a mix of residential, commercial, and automotive.
This role is best suited for a locksmith with minimum 5+ years of proven work (7+ strongly preferred, 10+ ideal). Automotive locksmithing skills (all keys lost, fobs, remotes, programming) are especially valuable, but we also welcome locksmiths with strong experience in lockouts, rekeys, and general locksmithing.
We are especially looking for locksmiths located in Anderson, Spartanburg, or Simpsonville, since those areas are farther from Travelers Rest and we get frequent calls there.

Duties (Flexible)
Automotive locksmithing: all keys lost, cutting, remotes, fob programming, cloning
Residential & commercial lockouts, rekeys, and lock changes
Install/service master key systems, high-security locks, and smart locks
Provide honest, respectful, and professional customer service
Maintain your own van, machines, and tools (company supplies parts/hardware, deducted from payout)
Uphold Speedy On-Time Locksmith’s reputation for punctuality and quality
(You don’t have to take every type of call — focus on the jobs you’re best at.)
Skills & Requirements
Minimum 5+ years locksmith experience (7+ strongly preferred, 10+ ideal)
Automotive locksmithing experience preferred (but not required for well-rounded locksmiths with strong lockout/rekey/commercial skills)
Must have your own reliable van, key machines, and locksmith tools
Must pass a background check
Must be able to provide references that prove locksmith experience
Professional demeanor and dependable character — someone we can trust to represent our company
Compensation
Commission-based (1099) — no cap on earning potential
Pay typically ranges $30–$150/hr equivalent, depending on skills and jobs completed
Service Area
We advertise across the Upstate SC area, but we are especially looking for locksmiths to cover Anderson, Spartanburg, and Simpsonville, in addition to Greenville, Travelers Rest, Mauldin, and Greer. Reliable locksmiths in these areas will have steady work.
