General description: Responsible for identifying anchor tenants within 3 state area (GA, AL, FL) that would launch investment in a metro-fiber network in order to provide data, voice, and video services. The position is focused on prospecting within municipalities, universities, schools, hospitals and high-profile accounts across a variety of other industries including manufacturing, hospitality, and financial services, among others. Duties and Responsibilities: Possess a very strong ability to hunt, find new business, and build a strong pipeline via a consultative sales approach Strong ability to articulate the value proposition to prospective customers Establish a sales strategy for your territory and effectively execute it to deliver on your assigned quota. Develop individual prospect account plans and establish individual sales strategies with each prospective account Use Salesforce.com to track prospecting and sales activity, to ensure accurate contact information is on each prospective customer/customer records, and to manage your opportunities in order to give the business clear visibility of opportunities on a monthly/quarter/yearly basis. Manage customer relationships and interactions through all stages of the sales cycle; prospecting to contract closure Establish productive, professional relationships with key personnel, influencers, and decision-makers in all customer accounts including C-level Executives Provide feedback to the leadership team on industry trends, key customer and strategic partner activities Experience responding to RFPs in education and government is helpful Experience responding to government and education RFPs is critical as is the knowledge of how to ensure awareness of all RFPs being placed for bid Must be financially literate, possess business acumen, and be astute in understanding financial implications of decisions in regard to capital expenditures, cost of ownership models, ROI, etc. Other elements of the role: Ability to work independently as a professional strategic sales representative The position requires significant travel across a 3-state region. We are looking for a "road warrior" who can stay focused on key accountabilities while working in their territory away from a corporate environment. Estimated travel is 90% of the time Must have excellent interpersonal skills and exceptional presentation skills Looking for someone who is a strong negotiator Consistent track record of meeting and exceeding performance objectives in a business development/hunting role Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience 8 or More years of sales experience in Telecom Industry Must have experience selling to municipalities, universities, schools, hospitals and high-profile accounts across a variety of other industries including manufacturing, hospitality, and financial services, among others Strong computer skills Customer service skills Ability to work weekends and extended hours as needed EOE/Vet/Disability
