As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.The Slabmaking Department at Port Kembla is responsible for the conversion of blast furnace iron and steel scrap into molten steel and then casting into slabs. We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic self-starter to join the BOS Asset Team within Slabmaking. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive mechanical knowledge to effectively coordinate maintenance activities and improvement initiatives. This role is responsible for maximising uptime performance and maintaining and improving plant condition at minimum cost, whilst ensuring zero harm (safety and environment).In this business-critical role, you will coordinate and execute routine maintenance work and attend to plant mechanical challenges, while also coordinating trade personnel and contractors to deliver a cost-effective, quality focused and flexible maintenance function to the BOSWhat Will You Do?As the Mechanical Maintenance Coordinator, you will:supervise the day-to-day management of plant maintenance activities, including planning, organising, execution and review of maintenancecoordinate and provide technical support to the maintenance resources within the sectioncoach, mentor and develop maintenance personnel in manufacturing excellence principles and process, particularly around root cause and problem analysis and the development and execution of corrective actionsparticipate in cost reduction and capital upgrade projectsrespond to the day-to-day electrical availability and reliability issuesMore About YouAs an experienced mechanical maintenance coordinator, you will have sound leadership experience, work effectively in cross-functional groups, and thrive in a team environment.
