The Commercial Director plays a crucial role in driving business performance, overseeing sales and marketing initiatives, and managing a high-performing team. This position demands a strategic mindset, exceptional leadership skills, and a commitment to excellence in all aspects of commercial operations.Business Performance:Develop, implement, and analyze comprehensive strategic sales plans, monthly reports, annual goals, sales and marketing budgets, forecasts, and other essential reports as required by senior management.Conduct thorough analysis of monthly profit and loss statements and month-end reports, identifying and addressing any deviations from established business plan goals.Collaborate closely with Finance and team members to meticulously prepare and manage the department's budget and financial forecasts.Actively participate in high-level management meetings to critically review progress towards business plan goals and contribute to the development of annual business plans for the department.Sales & Marketing:Lead daily strategic briefings with the department to ensure alignment on critical activities and objectives.Oversee and optimize all group, transient, and catering/banquet sales activities to maximize revenue generation for the hotel.Conduct comprehensive market research, including competitor analysis, market trend evaluation, and customer needs assessment, to inform proactive business strategies.Rigorously evaluate the effectiveness of existing programs and develop innovative strategies to drive growth and market share.Strategically manage and direct all advertising, public relations, and promotional activities in coordination with corporate marketing and public relations departments.Demonstrate leadership by actively participating in high-stakes sales presentations, property tours, and customer meetings.Continuously assess changes in guest needs, guest mix, and competitive landscape to recommend and implement appropriate product, service, and operational enhancements.Represent the organization with utmost professionalism in community and industry events to maintain a strong market presence and promote a positive corporate image.Team Management:Implement rigorous recruitment and selection processes for direct reports, ensuring only top-tier talent is acquired.Identify and cultivate high-potential team members through strategic development initiatives.Conduct thorough performance reviews and address performance issues within the management team promptly and effectively.Maintain vigilant oversight of team members' performance, attitude, and adherence to professional standards.Collaborate closely with the People & Culture function to ensure the implementation of best practices in hiring, training, motivation, coaching, counseling, and development of team members in alignment with evolving business needs.Conduct monthly departmental meetings to ensure clear communication of objectives, strategies, and performance expectations.
