Your responsibilities will include providing strong leadership in the areas of safe plant operation and adherence to BASF Process Safety rules and policies. Additionally, you will be instrumental in leading troubleshooting efforts when problems arise as well as identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.As a Production Engineer, you create chemistry by
Providing technical and leadership support in root cause failure analysis for production, EHS, and Quality Incidents.
Serving as a role model in championing risk reduction activities for all plant employees by setting a Zero Incident Mindset and perform observations on safe work practices, compliance to basic rules, and set high standards for housekeeping.
Directing process capability and efficiency efforts to reduce operating costs while improving plant operations.
Providing Technical Support and troubleshooting expertise to Daily Operational Team for plant problems that occur and identify opportunities for improvement.
Your accountability for critical Process Safety elements such as Management of Change (MOC), PSSR’s, Operational Procedures and Employee Participation. For Changes needing a MOC, ensuring risk assessments are thoroughly done and changes do not jeopardize safety of plant.
Coordinating with Operations leadership, Supply Chain planning, and Maintenance team in the scheduling / execution of maintenance work and outage work, minimizing the impact to the business and production plan.
Assisting the Asset Effectiveness team in the assignment of lost production via GAP tool.
Developing plans to optimize the unexpected losses and scheduled downtime for the Surfactants equipment.
If you have
A Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering Field (Chemical Engineering preferred) coupled with a minimum of 2 years Operations Engineering/Production experience
Strong troubleshooting skills, familiarity with chemical processing equipment, strong and effective interpersonal skills.
Experience in process hazard analysis, management of change, root cause analysis, and incident investigations.
