Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for an Accounting Specialist in the government industry, based in Summerville, South Carolina. The role involves processing and managing company accounts, maintaining organized financial records, and responding to inquiries related to accounting procedures. Responsibilities: Compile, evaluate, and enter data necessary for the accurate processing of company accounts payable. Match invoices with purchase orders and code invoices to assign to the general ledger account. Biweekly processing of payroll. Review entered data for errors or discrepancies and make necessary corrections. Assist in wiring and maintaining records of electronic drafts for various accounts. Prepare and execute timely and accurate sales tax payments. Generate updates and create invoices for miscellaneous receivables. Balance petty cash for each month and process sales tax reports and other reports as required. Prepare operational spreadsheets to monitor fuel, phone, and utility usage. Respond to inquiries and requests for assistance from employees regarding accounts payable procedures and policies. Perform general clerical work as required, including typing reports and correspondence, copying and filing documents, answering the telephone, and entering computer data. Requirements A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role or in the field of accounting Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems 4 year degree Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services Experience of working with Ceridian and Concur Knowledge of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning Ability to perform various Accounting Functions Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Knowledge and experience in Auditing Ability to handle Billing Functions Possession of a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a recognized institution Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Good time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
