This position requires a full range of activities associated with sales and service in accounts requiring unique, engineered, technical solutions. The account base for this position is largely centered around the power generation and aviation industries. Additional opportunities in the cutting tool, automotive assembly, auto tier, and general engineering markets exist based on the applicant’s expertise and skill set. Collaboration with distribution varies from large integrators to traditional local and national organizations. Responsibilities include working closely with Saint-Gobain Product Managers, Application Engineers, Distributor/Integrator Partners, National Accounts and Customer Service. The candidate will represent products from all business units within the Saint-Gobain Abrasives offering. Key measures of performance are sales revenue, relationship building, proposing and implementing sales growth programs, and uncovering new opportunities. This specific end-user territory geography is centered around (but not limited to) the greater Greenville, SC, area.This position requires a highly motivated, persistent, creative, personable, and team player who can succeed with limited direction. A thorough understanding of needs and value-based selling is critical, as is a solid background in Conventional Bonded, Superabrasives, Dressing Systems and Coated Abrasives. The incumbent should have proven sales and marketing skills, and the ability to communicate effectively and problem-solve efficiently. Time and territory management is essential, as is the ability to foresee and orchestrate team selling strategy when needed. Proven analytical, blueprint comprehension, negotiation, and organizational skills are necessary. A bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience is required. Proficiency in needs-based selling, Microsoft Office, Salesforce, web applications, contact management, and other forms of data analysis is necessary.While not a requirement, living in the greater Greenville, SC, area is likely to be considered by most.
