Job Summary

The Patient Services Representative greets and registers patients for appointments, reviews insurance and demographic information and updates as needed, takes co-pays, answers phones, schedules patients, communicates patient needs/concerns to other staff members, compiles reports, and performs other clerical duties as directed.

The PSR also rotates with the rest of the team to cover urgent care shifts evenings and Saturdays.

The PSR is the first point of contact for the patients, either in person or on the phone.

Must be friendly, helpful staff who work efficiently, and are able to multi-task.

PSR's are vital in making a positive first impression with the public.

The functions of the clinic, billing processes and the EMR are all based on accurate information obtained by the PSR.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or GED is required.

Medical terminology experience and Medical Assistant degree from a college or technical school is preferred.

Customer service or related experience is preferred.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday; 80 hours per 2 weeks

8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Occasional weekend

Occasional weeknight Urgent Care shifts

Monday - Friday, 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, & Saturdays, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$17.50 - $22.00 per hour
