Join us.General Summary:We are seeking a skilled and experienced F5 Load Balancing and DNS Engineer to join our IT infrastructure team. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining load balancing and DNS solutions to ensure high availability, performance, and security for enterprise applications.The ideal candidate should have deep expertise in F5 technologies, Cygna IPControl, and AWS Route 53 DNS management, and be able to support mission-critical environments.Responsibilities include installing, configuring, and maintaining cloud, Windows, Linux, or networking infrastructure, providing level II technical support, and optimizing system performance. The role also involves collaborating on complex projects, mentoring junior engineers, and requiring minimal supervision.Job Specifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, or equivalent relevant business experience

4 + years of related work experience in infrastructure engineering

Industry certification is a plus

Possesses highly developed technical expertise in multiple key operating system or subsystem areas

Strong ability to operate independently in developing and implementing the most complex technical solutions

Where relevant, demonstrates experience supporting in-house developed business applications and working directly with application development teams

Strong ability to leverage scripting and other tools to automate routine tasks

Through product research and personal experience, able to articulate strategy for appropriating various software and technologies to meet long range computing requirements

Has good human relations skills; able to work productively in team setting

Strong ability to drive resolution of highly complex technical problems

Strong ability to effectively summarize and clearly communicate software/hardware problems involving multiple support team(s)

Organized, able to follow through and complete projects with minimal supervision.

Systematic, technically curious, self-motivated and able to work independently without direct supervision

Must be comfortable in a fast paced, multiple priority environment

Strong ability to prioritize and divide time between multiple projects

Has excellent written and verbal communications skills; able to communicate effectively with systems associates at all levels

Strong ability to communicate with multiple levels of organizational leadership and deliver impactful presentations

Able to effectively collaborate with other IT groups for requirements on the topic of expertise

Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesDesign and Implementation :

Architect, configure, and maintain F5 load balancers (BIG-IP LTM, GTM) and Cygna IPControl and AWS Route 53 DNS to ensure optimized traffic management, performance, and failover capabilities.

Develop and deploy advanced load balancing solutions for enterprise applications, including health monitoring, persistence, SSL offloading, and traffic shaping.

Implement DNS services using F5 GTM/DNS or equivalent systems to provide redundancy, geographic load balancing, and disaster recovery.

Administration and Maintenance :

Manage and maintain the health of F5 infrastructure, including upgrades, patches, backups, and performance tuning.

Support DNS services, including authoritative and recursive DNS, dynamic DNS updates, and zone transfers.

Troubleshoot and resolve load balancing and DNS issues across a multi-datacenter and cloud environment.

Security and Compliance :

Implement security best practices, including SSL certificate management, DoS/DDoS protection, and web application firewall (WAF) policies on F5 devices.

Ensure compliance with company security policies and industry standards, documenting configurations and processes for audit and operational purposes.

Collaboration and Support :

Work closely with network engineering, application, and security teams to ensure seamless integration of load balancing and DNS solutions with other infrastructure components.

Provide advanced support for escalated incidents and change requests related to load balancing and DNS.

Train and mentor junior staff in the use of F5 technologies and best practices.

Monitoring and Reporting :

Utilize monitoring tools to ensure optimal performance of load balancing and DNS infrastructure, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues.

Generate regular reports on load balancer and DNS performance, availability, and capacity, and provide recommendations for improvements.
