Job DescriptionThe Senior General Liability Claims Adjuster is responsible for investigation, loss evaluation, negotiation and settlement of General liability and Product liability claims which involve bodily injuries. The Senior Adjuster will determine the scope of investigations, conduct interviews of claimants and witnesses, obtain, and review medical records related to the claim, review surveillance, review lease agreements, make initial liability determinations, confirm coverage, and set financial reserves based on the probable outcome and cost of claim to reduce exposure to the company. Also responsible for developing strategies with the in-house department and outside counsel to effectively and efficiently resolve litigation. The Senior adjuster is required to attend mediations and must have knowledge of negligence laws. A successful candidate will demonstrate strong customer service skills with the proper business knowledge to make financially responsible decisions for the company.ResponsibilitiesMaintain detailed claim notes, task assignments, diaries and emailsReview claims to ensure indemnity and expense reserves are adequate relative to the probable claim exposureMaintain a high closure rate to reduce incurred dollarsDetermine and set goals for reducing the ultimate cost of claims Maintain high call volumeExperienceAssociates or Bachelor’s degree (BA, BS) preferred or equivalent experience Three to five years claims experienceProficiency in Microsoft Office applicationsExcellent oral and written communication skillsDemonstrated problem-solving, negotiation and customer service skillsGood time management and detailed organization skills with follow-upAbility to juggle multiply task and assignmentsKnowledge of Risk Management Information System preferred, but not requiredBenefits at AutoZone AutoZone cares about people.
