Assistant GM

Position Overview:

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) at The Island Green Sports Bar and Kitchen plays a crucial role in the day-to-day operations, ensuring a seamless guest experience and the efficient functioning of the establishment. The AGM supports the General Manager (GM) in overseeing staff, maintaining high-quality standards, managing financial performance, and fostering a culture of excellence. Key Responsibilities:

Operations Management:

Assist the GM in daily operations, including opening, closing, and shift management.

Ensure the sports bar and kitchen operate smoothly during service, addressing issues promptly.

Maintain compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards.

Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with vendors for timely orders of food, beverages, and supplies.

Oversee the maintenance of equipment and facilities to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.

Staff Management:

Assist in recruiting, hiring, training, and mentoring staff, fostering a motivated and skilled team.

Supervise team members during shifts, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to standard.

Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.

Coordinate staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours and special events.

Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, and a guest-focused mindset.

Guest Experience:

Ensure a welcoming, inclusive, and enjoyable environment for all patrons.

Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally.

Collaborate with the marketing team to execute promotions, events, and game-day experiences.

Financial Management:

Monitor daily revenue, expenses, and profitability, assisting the GM in financial reporting.

Control labor costs, inventory wastage, and other expenses to optimize financial performance.

Review sales trends and provide recommendations for menu pricing, specials, and promotions.

Leadership and Development:

Act as a second-in-command in the absence of the GM, making critical decisions as needed.

Stay updated on industry trends to improve operations, customer satisfaction, and employee engagement.
