The Finance Billing Assistant is responsible to help the finance team in the daily operations of the Finance Department. All New Horizons’ Staff are expected to study, practice and operate within the New Horizons’ Philosophy of Keeping Kids First. Keeping Kids Safe!
Following the New Horizons’ Employee Handbook;
Billing for Family programs (FAYS, Kinship and FRC)
Data entry into the state PEIRS system for FAYS, Kinship and FRC
Pull Medicaid billing for QRTPS and the counseling center
Foster parent data entry, including but not limited to, foster parent payroll entry, paperless filing of foster parent payroll/finance documents
Tracking and ensuring that all Medicaid licensing is accurate and current
DFPS/Superior Health/Medicaid billing and data entry
Assistance with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processing
Understanding of policies and procedures as they pertain to finance
Must demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
Can effectively work out of database and utilize spreadsheets.
Must communicate effectively and efficiently with all staff as needed in a professional and courteous manner.
Must have basic knowledge of payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Must have working knowledge of Journal Entries, Accounting and Bookkeeping skills.

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Associates degree or equivalent experience
Bachelor's Degree preferred; will provide on the job training to the right candidate
General accounts receivable experience and medical billing preferred
Must be 21 years of age or older
Working conditions
Traditional office setting with some interaction with children in care.
Physical requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
