A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field is required with the required five (5) years of relevant work experience.

Five (5) years of relevant work experience to include at least two (2) years-experience in Healthcare and/or Corporate Emergency Management (with a Bachelor's degree) is required.

A Masters Degree is preferred for this role.

Two (2) years of experience in Healthcare and/or Corporate Emergency Management is required.

In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, a H.S. Diploma and nine (9) years of relevant work experience to include at least two (2) years of experience in Healthcare and/or Corporate Emergency Management is required.

Driver’s License is required upon hire.

Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) or similar Emergency Management certification is preferred upon hire.

This position requires familiarity with emergency management/crisis management in a healthcare and/or corporate setting.

The successful candidate will have familiarity and working knowledge of the Joint Commission requirements for emergency management.

Approximately 30% local travel between Texas Health Resources locations in the North Texas area is required.

The successful candidate will have the ability to establish and maintain excellent communications with leaders, physicians, hospital, and corporate staff. Manage outcomes through others, including staff and senior leaders who are not direct reports. Lead the organization through an intense crisis situation while demonstrating strong emotional intelligence and executive influence. Exercise a high degree of initiative, judgment, and discretion. The successful candidate will have excellent presentation skills and the ability to present to a variety of audiences. Prepare concise, thorough, and effective written communications. Gain the cooperation of individuals/departments in sensitive or emotional situations. Deal well with ambiguity.What You’ll DoThe successful candidate will lead and govern Emergency Management strategy across Texas Health Resources in alignment with the Enterprise-wide vision set by senior leadership. Develop, implement, and manage the strategic and tactical planning for the System Emergency Management Program. Develop, implement, and manage policies and programs that prepare the organization for significant disruption in a manner that ensures consistency across the Enterprise. Develop and documents standards and metrics for measuring the effectiveness of Emergency Management activities and readiness of Texas Health to respond to a critical incident.Collaborate and work closely with the hospital channel Emergency Management Program ensuring the hospital program complies with Enterprise governance. Ensure the Texas Health Emergency Management Program meets Joint Commission and other compliance requirements at all levels. Build relationships with operational leaders across the organization. Work directly with entity Safety Officers, and representatives from THPG clinics, Breeze urgent care, and other healthcare delivery channels and system services organizations across the Enterprise.Oversee the preparation, mitigation, response, and recovery efforts for Texas Health. In an Enterprise-level emergency, directly leads emergency response or acts in support of the designated System Incident Commander. Brief senior leadership across the organization on the status of emergency situations as necessary.Develop and manage business critical projects and programs with significant financial, reputational, and/or legal impact. Develop business plans for and maintains public relations with a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders enabling the necessary joint planning, intelligence sharing, and collaboration efforts. Establishes and implements effective relationships to: Liaise with local, state, and national emergency management officials. Conduct intelligence sharing. Interface and conduct planning with Homeland Security officials. Liaise with law enforcement at all levels. Interface with private sector counterparts.Leads and manages the EM Specialists. Provides effective direction and oversight of their work product.
