Seasonal Certified Surgical Tech PRN - Central Staffing OfficeWe are looking for Seasonal RNs to join Texas Health. Is that you?Main Office: Texas Health Central Staffing Office - 612 E Lamar, Arlington, TX 76011Work Locations: The main office for the Central Staffing Office is in Arlington, TX but you will primarily be working in Region A.Work hours: PRN, must be available to work 36 hours/week.Shift: variable Day and Night shifts (no self-scheduling).Regions are as follows:Region A: Allen, Frisco, Plano, Dallas, Prosper, Rockwall, Kaufman and Center for Diagnostics & Surgery PlanoRegion B: Denton, Flower Mound, Southlake, HEB, Arlington Memorial, Heart & Vascular, Alliance, and AzleRegion C: Fort Worth, Southwest, Cleburne, Clearfork, Burleson, Willow Park and the Specialty Hospital.Position Highlights:Texas Health Central Staffing Office – internal staffing department that provides clinical staffing resources for all THR hospitals. Must have flexibility to float throughout the Metroplex based on the needs of the business. The Central Staffing Office is broken into particular zones, but in the event that your primary zone does not have any needs, you must be open to being floated to outside, neighboring zones.Department Highlights:

Here’s What You Need:Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent and was employed to practice surgical technology in a health care facility before September 1, 2009 (required) or

Other graduate of an accredited surgery technology program, Vocational Nurse Program or graduate/completion of a military training program in surgical technology (required)

Other graduate of an accredited surgery technology program, Vocational Nurse Program or graduate/completion of a military training program in surgical technology (preferred)

Experience

1 year experience within the last three years (excluding residency/orientation) (required)

acute care experience (preferred)Licenses and Certifications

CST - Certified Surgical Technologist graduate of an accredited surgical tech program (required upon hire) or

CST - Certified Surgical Technologist and was employed to practice surgical technology in a health care facility before September 1, 2009 (required upon hire) or

Certified Surgical Technologist graduate/completion of a military training program in surgical technology (required within 2 years) or

LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse (required upon hire) and

BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly (required)

SkillsA high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, acceptable grooming practices and ability to function in a fast-paced, changing environment.What You Will Do:Nursing Process: Assists in providing peri-operative care for a patient population that includes Infants, Pediatrics, Adults, and Geriatrics.Preoperatively assists R.N. circulator in formulating plan of care.Intra-operatively displays skills and behavior conducive to desirable outcome.Post-operatively follows proper procedures for care of instruments, supplies and equipment. Under supervision, assists RN circulator with post-operative duties.Age Specific Care: Demonstrates competence in assisting with the performance of age appropriate patient care that is specific to the unique physiological and anatomic aspects of life from the very young to the older adult.Infection Prevention: Assists in the delivering of nursing care in a manner that minimizes the risk of transfer of infection and accidental contamination.Safety: Assists in delivering care in a manner which protects the patient from injury.Continuous Improvement: Care is provided with an emphasis on continually improving quality, service and cost effectiveness.Professional accountability: Assists as needed in coordinating patient care peri-operatively and assumes responsibility and accountability for behavior in order to maintain standards for professional nursing practice.Additional perks of being a Texas Health employee:
