Description We are offering an opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the transport industry, based in Arlington, Texas. The successful candidate will be an integral part of our team, providing essential accounting services for our operation, analyzing financial trends and data, and offering financial leadership to the team. This role offers the chance to contribute to our overall organizational goals and the potential for professional growth.Responsibilities: Analyzing financial trends, costs, revenues, and obligations to predict future revenues and expenses. Providing financial, analytical, and decision-making leadership to team members. Monitoring and achieving the operation’s annual financial goals. Suggesting changes that could be implemented across multiple locations. Performing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities in all accounting areas. Analyzing and reconciling various balance sheet, income statement, and expense accounts. Performing monthly intercompany invoicing and reconciliation of month-end balances. Preparing monthly reconciliation of employee benefits and resolving variances. Assisting with external and internal audits. Leading and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. Ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other regulatory authorities. Utilizing skills in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Microsoft Excel, Month End Close, NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP. Performing other duties as assigned. Requirements Proven experience as a Sr. Accountant in the Transport industry. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Solid understanding and experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process. Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, specifically NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP. Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, laws and regulations. Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records. Experience with account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations. Ability to produce error-free accounting reports and present their results. Analytical mind with strong data entry skills. High attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to direct and supervise. BSc/Ba in accounting, finance or relevant field is preferred. Professional certification (e.g. CMA, CPA) is a plus.
