Literacy Teacher 2026-27

Long-View Micro School seeks a Literacy Teacher interested in teaching middle school students, facilitating a rigorous reading and writing experience. You’ll work with a supportive group of experienced educators in developing curriculum, and leverage our learner-centered culture to create a workshop-style environment in which learners will read and write ambitiously. You’ll be teaching one group of kids; each week you’ll teach three, 2-hour class blocks. The rest of the week you’ll be planning/reading/researching, working collaboratively with the four-member Literacy team and supporting team goals, observing other classes to study teaching or the learning of your students, and collecting data in the form of “artifacts of student work.” Additionally, as a member of the Long-View team, you’ll also participate in the running of the school and the daily delivery of an outstanding educational experience for our eighty learners. On balance, you’ll have time to do a superior job teaching, but also time to collaborate with colleagues so as to co-construct a high-level learning environment for all Long-View kids.

This position is full-time and that is our preference, though we’d be willing to make adjustments for the right person. Start date early to mid-August 2026.
