Position Summary: As a Business Development Representative (BDR) at Whim Event Rentals (WER), you will play a critical role in driving revenue growth by prospecting, generating leads, and closing orders for our range of special event rental products and temporary tent structures. Your primary focus will be on identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with potential customers, and converting leads into sales. You will work closely with your peers, operations team, assigned Inside Sales Associate(s) and marketing teams to meet and exceed sales targets. Key Responsibilities:
Prospecting & Lead Generation:
Identify and research potential customers within the WER service area
Generate leads through prospecting, email campaigns, social media, and networking.
Manage prospect reports and lead follow up to ensure all opportunities are being pursued.
Qualify leads to ensure they align with WER’s product offerings and business objectives.
Sales Development:
Engage with prospects to understand their needs and pain points.
Present and explain WER’s product solutions.
Develop tailored pricing proposals in Point of Rentals quoting system.
Participate in industry events.
Contribute to value propositioning efforts to effectively communicate the value of our offerings to clients.
Sales Growth
Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve and exceed sales targets.
Approximately 50% of time will be spent on outbound prospecting, the balance on account development and in-person prospecting or customer/site visits.
Identify and prioritize potential customers, industries, and market segments to pursue for business development.
Maintain a robust sales pipeline and consistently work towards converting leads into successful sales.
Pursue a high volume of top project and transactional opportunities while offering turnkey event solutions.
Customer Relationship Management:
Maintain and update the CRM system with accurate and detailed information on all leads and customer interactions.
Follow up with prospects to nurture relationships and move them through the sales funnel.
Provide excellent customer service to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business.
Conduct internal and external relationships in a manner that aligns with company core values.
Ensure contracts, indemnities and releases are signed and mutually followed.
Confirms orders complete with client signature, and collections payment prior to delivery or as specified by the contractual term.
Market Analysis:
Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitive products.
Work with the Inside Sales Associates to support company meetings with clients and provide technical support to clients as needed.
Reporting & Analysis:
Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including lead generation, conversion rates, and sales performance.
Provide regular feedback to the GM/Sales Director on market conditions, customer needs, and areas for improvement.
Participate in sales meetings and contribute to the development of sales strategies.
Team Collaboration
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, logistics, and customer support, to ensure customer satisfaction and successful project execution.
Provide mentorship and support to Inside Sales Associates (ISAs), fostering a strong team dynamic at WER and promoting continuous growth and development.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with keen attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build trust with clients and teams.
Creative problem-solving and ability to adapt to last-minute changes under pressure.
Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Work Environment:
Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate event needs.
On-site presence required during events with occasional physical activities such as lifting or moving décor and equipment.
