North America Sort Centers (NASC) are experiencing growth and looking for a skilled, highly motivated BIE to join the NASC Engineering Product, Data and Simulation (PAS) Team.The Sort Center network is the critical Middle-Mile solution in the Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) group, linking Fulfillment Centers to the Last Mile. The experience of our customers is dependent on our ability to efficiently execute volume flow through the middle-mile network.Our ideal candidate will be passionate about leveraging data to deliver actionable insights that impact business decisions to improve customer experience. This role offers the opportunity to influence and drive a growing business area. The BIE will partner with the Product, Analytics and Simulation within the NASC Engineering team to define, develop and manage the data analytics strategy for NASC engineering and opportunities for improvements, and keeping stakeholders/leadership informed of progress. This person will also collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders including product managers,, program managers, data scientists, engineers and other partner teams NA. The Sr. BIE will build the foundational data pipelines and data tables, analyze large data sets, prove and disprove hypothesis, automate solutions and build self-service dashboards and reports. This person consistently employs high judgment and makes data-driven decisions, leading by example and influencing the PAS BI team to do the same.Key job responsibilities Building robust and scalable data integration (ETL) pipelines using SQL, EMR, Python and Spark. Build and deliver high quality data architecture to support NASC Engineering reporting needs. Interface with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources. Drive both business and technology solutions to improve capacity and material flow optimization within NASC. Continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self-service support for customers.Translate data into actionable insights for the stakeholders.About the teamNASC Engineering’s Product and Analytics Team’s sole objective is to develop tools for under the roof simulation and optimization, supporting the needs of our internal and external stakeholders (i.e. Process Design Engineering, NASC Engineering, ACES, Finance, Safety and Operations). We develop products and tools to evaluate what-if design and operations scenarios for new and existing sort centers to understand their robustness, stability, scalability, and cost-effectiveness. We conceptualize new data science solutions, using optimization and machine learning platforms, to analyze new and existing process, identify and reduce non-value added steps, and increase overall performance and rate.We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:Austin, TX, USA | Bellevue, WA, USA | Nashville, TN, USA | New York, NY, USABasic Qualifications

3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience

Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines

Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab

Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling

2+ years in the logistics or supply chain industry

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift

Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

The base pay for this position ranges from $79,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market.
