Job Title: Coating Operator ISchedule: Monday- Friday 8am-5pmPay Rate: $18 an hourJob descriptionThe Coating Operator I operates parylene deposition systems to coat customer-supplied parts to meet customer and Engineering specifications. Coating operators use a powder dimer (following work instruction) to the coating machine. Load fixtures into the coating machine with customer product and then run the machine per specifications. This position also operates other equipment such as vacuum ovens, plasma etcher, tumble coater or other machines. Performs light maintenance and refurbishing on equipment. May perform shipping, receiving and other duties as requested.Qualifications

Evidence of good attendance/dependability will be critical.

We build our own equipment so it’s unlikely candidates will have exact experience with the equipment we use. We will train them on using our equipment/machines.

Math skills: fractions, decimals, add/sub/mult/divide.

Relevant experience may be: some CNC or automated machines that have to be dismantled and put back together. Oil changes/cleanings on machines. Preventative maintenance is a plus. Hand tools and working with hands.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); proven mechanical ability and/or previous machine operator experience

Ability to read, write and follow written or verbal instructions

Ability to speak, read and write English

Ability to properly use and read measurements on tools involved in the coating process

High degree of manual dexterity and hand-to-eye coordination

Familiarity with electrical and mechanical systems

Knowledge of Computers

Helpful but not required – Knowledge of Parylene

Helpful but not required – Knowledge of Chemistry

Responsibilities

The Coating Operator I operates parylene deposition systems to coat customer-supplied parts to meet customer and Engineering specifications

This position also operates other equipment such as vacuum ovens, plasma etcher, tumble coater or other machines

Performs light maintenance and refurbishing on equipment

May perform shipping, receiving and other duties as requested

Follows process instructions, Manufacturing Standard Procedures (MSP’s) and verbal instructions from the Plant Manager, Coating Center Manager, Production Supervisor, or Production Manager

Prepares job traveler sheets and coordinates and/or performs the processing of parts through some or all of the following tasks: unpacking, cleaning, promoting, masking, fixturing, coating, de-fixturing, demasking, packing, and completing all required documentation

Loads machines, monitors process equipment during run, and verifies coating thickness using various measurement devices and tools

Operates all machines connected with the promotion and deposition process with minimal help or assistance

Shuts down, unloads, reloads and starts machines as scheduled

Able to operate, maintain and troubleshoot parylene deposition systems or other related equipment

Performs routine maintenance, such as changing pump oil, cleaning valves and cold traps, as well as performing system refurbishing at a defined interval

Maintains records, checklists and log books on equipment, including the documentation of witness strips, QC testing and maintenance

Able to read customer or engineering drawings or specifications as related to the processing of customer parts

Assembles fixtures and assemblies for coating

Prepares, uses and disposes of chemical cleaning and promotion baths

Maintains a neat and orderly work area

May set up, adjust, maintain and operate the microblaster

May fixture customer parts in preparation for the coating process

Able to participate in FAA/DOT testing as necessary

Adheres to plant and corporate safety policies

May assist in other areas or perform other duties as required by fluctuating business needs
