Plans, coordinates, and supports data and information requests by analyzing complex crash data using the Crash Records Information System (CRIS) using MicroStrategy and/or Tableau, enterprise business intelligence tools. Work requires contact with all levels of the department including but not limited to department executives, and internal and external customers. Employees at this level establish their own work plan and priorities to meet set objectives. Issues are rarely referred to the supervisory but are handled at the occurrence.Essential Duties: Consults with performance analysts, program staff, and vendors to understand the business requirements that drive the analysis and design of visualizations.Participates in data visualization tool system administration monitoring and upgrades.Documents requests and actions taken and related query logic in database and relevant folders.Monitors the crash data request portal and contacts requestors for additional information and clarification on their requests.Responds to and manages requests for crash data from external and internal customers.Builds data queries, reports, and dashboards in CRIS using Business Intelligence software to research, compiles, and analyze complex data to generate reports and provides statistical analyses. Develops, maintains, and compiles crash data for federal reporting purposes (Highway Safety Plan (HSP), Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP), and Strategic Highway Safety Plan. Develops, maintains, compiles and publishes the Statewide Annual Motor Vehicle Traffic Crash Reports.Assesses crash data quality; identifies significant differences in data; evaluates and documents query results for data consistency; and removes insignificant data.Assists internal users with developing queries, reports, and provide technical assistance.Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
