As an Application Engineer for the Renesas Performance Computing Power Application Engineering team, you will be part of a fast-paced power management applications team serving the AI and cloud infrastructure market. You will engage cross-functionally with a diverse team, including marketing, IC design, firmware engineering, and systems engineering teams, to deliver the most innovative power solutions.Responsibilities A broad comprehension of DC/DC power conversion is required, including familiarity with digital multiphase PWM controllers. Key responsibilities include:Work with senior applications, design and test engineers to validate new digital multiphase controllers and Smart Power Stages to evaluate system-level performance.Work with senior applications engineers and evaluate new algorithms in the lab using a combination of FPGA, Microcontrollers, and custom Analog Front End.Behavioral modeling of DC-DC converters, including IC blocks, using SIMPLIS and/or MATLAB to support the design engineering team with new control architectures.Develop EVBs, including responsibility for component selection, layout, and thermal designDevelop collateral such as datasheets, performance reports, and application notes to support customer engagement.
