Senior Staff Software Developer

We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer responsible for building DevOps automation and tooling using Python, GitHub Actions, GCP, and other technologies. Your primary responsibility will be to design and develop our automation pipelines used for future vehicle programs. Additionally, own coordination with partner teams on how they interface with the system and align on delivery schedules. A commitment to collaborative problem-solving, elegant design, and quality product development while being a team player with a positive attitude is essential to our success.

Design, build, and maintain the Software Factory software delivery automation pipeline for Ford.

Build DevOps pipelines for FNV4 and beyond.

Create full stack applications with both front-end and back-end development.

Architect, develop, and deliver Python-based enterprise applications.

Realize functional requirements into complete implementations.

Design, build, and maintain efficient, secure, reusable, and reliable code.

Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of automations.

Identify bottlenecks and bugs then devise solutions to mitigate and address issues.

Code reviews, testing, and debugging.

Be a technical leader for the team and organization.

Train junior developers, be a role model for software best practices, and uplevel the organization.

Required Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.

5 to 10 years as a Software Developer

Full stack application development both front-end and back-end development.

Experience with design, development, and delivery of Python-based enterprise applications.

Can realize functional requirements into complete implementations.

Experience with designing, building, and maintaining efficient, secure, reusable, and reliable code.

Have ensured the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of automations.

Can identify bottlenecks and bugs then devise solutions to mitigate and address issues.

Experience with code reviews, testing, and debugging.

Be able to be handed feature areas with large unknowns, establish clarity, architect a solution, and drive it to delivery.

Nice to have skills:

Ability to respond and prioritize several demands from different teams and point of views.

Ability to drive Quality/Performance mindset into different levels inside the company.

Maintain resilience as new tools/processes are established upon teams already working with other demands.

Additionally, a strong candidate will have:

Strong desire to automate / self-service.

Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Ability to multi-task and manage changing priorities.

Ability to work independently, learn quickly and take initiative when solving unexpected problems.

The ideal candidate would have experience in these areas:

Agile Framework & methodology (backlogs, iterations, user stories, etc.).

JIRA or similar backlog management tools.

Pair programming and test-driven development.

Awareness of Agile principles.
