Unlock your potential!Job Summary and QualificationsAs a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech Therapist, you will carry out individualized therapy programs for patients with communication, cognitive and/or swallowing impairments. You will assess, treat, plan, implement, educate, and communicate to maximize a patient's progress toward achieving functional goals and discharge plans. You will supervise therapy aides and students.

You will perform comprehensive patient assessments and establish appropriate treatment goals and programs for patients in Acute care, Inpatient Rehab, and/or Outpatient.

You will coordinate the treatment program with other clinical/therapeutic services.

You will develop comprehensive goals for treatment to maximize patient outcomes.

You will deliver care and modify the care plan in accordance with the patient’s needs.

You will serve as an educator to patients, families, students and colleagues.

You will maintain records of services provided.

What qualifications you will need:Experience

Experience with Modified Barium Swallow Studies

Education

Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology or equivalent discipline

Licenses and Certifications

Licensed by the State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology

Basic Life Support (BLS) required as per St. David’s Healthcare policy

Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) issued by the American-Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or current Clinical Fellowship Plan approved by ASHA – preferred
