Senior Developer (Pacific Investment Management Company LLC (PIMCO) – Austin, TX); Multiple positions available. Develop and enhance internal applications supporting portfolio management and trading activities. Assist with the architecture and design of distributed services that efficiently process extensive amounts of transactions and data near-real time and low latency for automated trading. Work across back-end and front-end of the company product portfolio. Architect, code, test, deploy, and review software applications and framework responsible for internal trading tools. Deliver complex platforms that enable decision making, as well as employ techniques to optimize investment decisions. Collaborate with project managers, technical leads, and business owners to develop trading systems that support business objectives. Analyze users’ needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost restraints. Confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers, project managers, and others to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces, then design, test, develop, and enhance software solutions to meet those needs. Ensure through software maintenance and testing that solutions function normally and work in conjunction to achieve their objectives. Position based in Austin, TX; telecommuting permitted 2 days per week.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, Computer Management, or a related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or in software engineering. Must have 3 years of experience in each of the following: Java and Python programming languages; statistical programs including SQL; Agile Scrum Methodology; mission critical distributed systems; and, design of domain specific languages. Experience may be gained concurrently. Position based in Austin, TX; telecommuting permitted 2 days per week.
