Greenstar Tree and Land Services is growing, and we’re looking for a skilled Tree Climber to join our crew. If you’re experienced in climbing, cutting, and caring for trees — and you take pride in your work — we want to hear from you.
Position: Tree Climber / Arborist
Location: Austin and the surrounding areas
Key Responsibilities:
Climb and Rig: Use professional climbing techniques and equipment to access and work in tree canopies for pruning or removal.
Prune and Remove Branches: Cut away dead, diseased, or overgrown limbs using chainsaws, hand saws, and pruning tools.
Prioritize Safety: Always follow safety protocols, use appropriate PPE, and work closely with the crew to ensure a safe job site.
Maintain Equipment: Keep tools clean, sharpened, and in top working condition.
Manage the Work Site: Remove debris, clear brush, and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Teamwork and Communication: Work well with crew members, follow instructions, and communicate clearly with clients when needed. Fluency in both English and Spanish preferred.
Promote Tree Health: Identify tree health issues and assist with treatments for pests or disease.
Lead and Mentor: (If applicable) Supervise and help train less experienced team members.
Operate Equipment: Run chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, and other tree care machinery safely and efficiently.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a tree climber or arborist
Strong knowledge of rigging and climbing techniques
Proficient with tree trimming and removal tools
Commitment to safety and proper use of PPE
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Reliable transportation and a strong work ethic
CDL a plus but not required
