Position Information Posting Number 20112938 Position Title Benefits Supervisor FTE 1.0 Position Type Staff Department Human Resources Dept Position Summary Information Job Summary/Basic Function About This Role: The Benefits Supervisor position is responsible for directing and planning the day-to-day operations of group benefits programs (group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, worker’s compensation, life insurance, flexible spending plan, retirement plans, etc.). This position provides excellent customer service and designs quality benefits plans. The administrator continually investigates new benefits programs, improves existing programs, and supervises and monitors the benefits administration.What You’ll Do – Position Responsibilities
Supervises, trains, coaches, directs, coordinates, and disciplines personnel while
adhering to organizational human resource policies, procedures and related employmentlaws. Recommends hiring and terminating personnel actions for positions supervised.
Oversees the daily operations of the group benefits program and maintenance of
employee benefits files, maintain group benefits database and update employee payrollrecords; ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and implementing bestpractices in HR management.
Analyze current benefits, evaluating the use, services, coverage, effectiveness, cost, plan experience and competitive trends in benefits programs, and identify the company’s stance.
Monitor administrative costs of benefits programs and recommend cost containment
strategies, including alternative methods for administration and funding. Preparebudgetary recommendations and assist in the monitoring, verifying and reconciling ofbudgeted funds.
Coordinate daily benefits processing; enrollments, COBRA , terminations, changes,
beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims, rollovers, QDROs, QMCSOs,distributions, loans, hardships and compliance testing.
Lead development and delivery of training and development programs for HR staff and
stakeholders regularly.Key Competencies:
Knowledge
Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state employment laws, regulations, and best practices.
Knowledge of benefits contract language.
Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs, including the ACA , ERISA , COBRA , FMLA , ADA , Section 125, workers’ compensation, Medicare, OBRA , and Social Security and DOL requirements.
Knowledge of Retirement eligibility and requirements.

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on data-driven solutions to ensure great customer service.
Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills to create pivot tables, graphs, and charts

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or institution human resource management or related field
4 years of experience in Workers’ Compensation/employee benefits administration, and billing or any equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience in workers’ compensation and employee benefits administration.
Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft Suite; experience with HRIS and benefits databases.
Project and team management/leadership skills and experience.
Demonstrated ability to manage time and prioritize projects to meet deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively relate data to coworkers
Excellent critical thinking skills to help solve business problems
Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accuracy
