About Us:
We are a fast-paced staffing agency operating across multiple branches in Texas. We are seeking an experienced Controller. This position supports our accounting, financial reporting, payroll accuracy, and compliance processes.
Position Overview:
The Controller will oversee the company’s financial operations, manage accounting functions, ensure accurate reporting, and support leadership with financial planning and analysis. The ideal candidate has strong experience in accounting, preferably within staffing or service-based industries.
Responsibilities:
Oversee all accounting operations, including AP/AR, general ledger, and month-end close
Review payroll processes for accuracy, including multi-branch labor reports
Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
Prepare financial statements and management reports
Oversee compliance with state and federal regulations
Support audits, year-end closing, and external CPA coordination
Improve internal controls, procedures, and financial systems
Work directly with ownership and executive leadership on financial strategy
Handle GL cleanup, reconciliations, and cash flow tracking
Ensure proper billing, markup calculations, workers comp classifications, and tax filings
Qualifications:
10+ years of experience as a Controller, Senior Accountant, or similar role
Experience in the staffing industry is highly preferred
Strong understanding of payroll, labor reporting, invoicing, and multi-state compliance
Proficient in QuickBooks, Excel, and payroll/accounting software
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
