PURPOSE STATEMENT
The Elevate Life Daycare Assistant Teacher is responsible for the academic, social-emotional growth, spiritual and development of all children in their care, which may include infants to toddlers; develops partnerships with parents/childs caregivers to engage and encourage participation in the program. The Assistant Teacher is also responsible for assuring compliance with codes of all State and local governing agencies; and works well with other staff members of Elevate Life Daycare and its constituents.

ELC Daycare Director
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Support Lead Teacher in developing weekly plans and implements age appropriate curriculum (lesson plans) to nurture and stimulate childrens development in our care
Completes child transition and orientation of the classroom with parents
Maintains ongoing, open communication with parents, caregivers and Director
Assists with creating monthly newsletter for the parents to be informed of upcoming activities and highlights of previous events
Communicate to Lead Teacher childrens developmental progress, needs and interests for the parent conferences.
Liaison with childrens families to ensure smooth transition from home to child care setting.
Maintain accurate, complete, and timely records, logs; complete daily meal, attendance, cleaning records.
Maintains up to date emergency forms, curriculum plans, individual child development profile and other records as needed.
Completes daily health checks regarding hygiene, safety, and overall well-being of the children
Assist with functioning and monitoring of nutrition.
Assures a healthy, safe, clean and developmentally appropriate environment for children.
Completes and reports any symptoms of child abuse to the Director or Daycare Management and/or child abuse hotline.
Reports all staffing and classroom concerns to the Lead Teacher and/or Director in a timely manner.
Reports family changes in schedules and excessive absences to the Lead Teacher and/or Director in a timely manner.
Participate in on-going in-service and educational development opportunities provided by the Daycare.
Completes yearly performance evaluations.
Performs on-going evaluations of the physical environment in the classroom to create opportunities to meet the changing needs of the child
Provide responsive care to all children by adapting daily care giving routines and plans to the needs of the individual child and group.
Participate in meeting the Daycares goal and objectives.
Perform other duties as assigned by Elevate Life Daycare Management

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Personal relationship with Jesus Christ and heart of a servant leader.
Knowledge of On-care software system or comparable
Creative Curriculum or lesson plan experience
2 years infant/toddler teaching experience in a licensed child care center
State requirements for Infant to Toddler to include daily logs, records, sanitation process
Food handling license
CPR and First Aid Certified
Early Childhood Development knowledge in infant and toddler care with two (2) years minimum experience in a licensed child care
Knowledge in Developmental Appropriate Practices
Knowledge of State Program Requirements for Childcare Centers
Good communication, problem solving, and priority setting skills as well as maintaining an overall positive and professional attitude
Ability to use the computer to input data and record keeping
Ability to effectively plan, organize and implement educational activities
Ability to make decisions on behalf of children and protect their well-being
Must be able to manage confidential information
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and in case of emergency a 40 pound child
Excellent relational, communication and organizational skills and maintains a positive, can-do attitude; values personal growth and development; and demonstrates passion for positive change/willingness to grow and change with ELC.
Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in written and verbal formats, and build and maintain strong relationships.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Possesses visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
Able to view a computer screen and various types of type for long periods of time.
CONDITIONS WORKER WILL BE SUBJECT TO
