Manhattan Project Beer Company is looking for a dedicated and hard working prep-cook/dishwasher to join our kitchen team. As a dish/prep you will play a crucial role in preparing high-quality food to complement our craft beers in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Your responsibilities will include preparing ingredients, cooking ticket items to order, ensuring food quality and safety standards, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. Food Prep Assistance:
Assist in washing, peeling, and chopping meats, vegetables, and other ingredients for daily menu items.
Portion ingredients according to recipe or chef specifications.
Help prepare and assemble sauces, dressings, or other prep items as required by the kitchen staff.
Ensure all prep areas are stocked with the necessary ingredients and tools.
Dishwashing & Sanitation:
Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment by hand or in dishwashing machines.
Ensure all dishes are sanitized and free of grease, food particles, and residue.
Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area, ensuring a safe, organized, and efficient workflow.
Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, floors, and work areas according to health and safety guidelines.
Empty trash bins and remove garbage from kitchen and prep areas in a timely manner.
Kitchen Maintenance:
Assist in keeping the kitchen and prep areas clean and well-organized, including cleaning surfaces and organizing utensils, cookware, and storage.
Help with inventory management, including restocking supplies and ensuring proper food storage.
Team Support & Collaboration:
Work closely with cooks, chefs, and other kitchen staff to support meal preparation and ensure efficient kitchen operations.
Assist with other kitchen tasks as needed, including organizing deliveries or helping with special cleaning tasks.
Adhere to Safety & Hygiene Standards:
Follow all food safety and hygiene standards, including proper food handling, cleaning, and sanitizing techniques.
Ensure safe operation of dishwashing machines and other kitchen equipment.
Wear appropriate protective gear such as gloves and non-slip shoes as needed.
Experience:
Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is preferred but not required.
Experience with dishwashing or food prep tasks is a plus.
Skills:
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and organization.
Ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods, bend, lift, and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs).
Ability to work in a hot, noisy, and sometimes physically demanding kitchen environment.
