Position: Industrial Electrician

Primary Location: Celina, TX

Shift: 40 hour work week

Reports to: Maintenance Manager

Compensation: $32 - $36 + Benefits + Sign on/retention bonus available

The US hourly rate for this position is $32 - $36 + benefits. Hourly rates are determined by role, level, and location. About this Role and About You

The primary focus/objective of the Industrial Electrician with Controls and Instrumentation experience is to perform both new installation and maintenance of existing industrial and commercial electrical equipment, instrumentation, PLC maintenance and troubleshooting, motor maintenance, work with Corporate Electrical Engineers, be liaison to outside I&E Technicians and electrical contractors and perform logistical requirements for the maintenance department.

Qualification

Knowledge

High School Diploma or GED.

Licensed electrician (master electrician preferred) with 5-6 years' relevant work experience. Two year Electrical / Electronic degree preferred. Can substitute electrical / electronic work experience for two-year degree.

Proven working knowledge with electrical troubleshooting and Preventative Maintenance of industrial/commercial I&E equipment such as: PLC, level/temp/pressure indicators, MCCs, and VFDs.

Working knowledge of NFPA, NEC 70/70E, and other applicable codes and standards relating to electrical power distribution, equipment, controls, and installation.

Ability to plan and see the "big picture".

Strong knowledge of OSHA standards applicable to maintenance activities in a chemical process environment.

Knowledge of Responsible Care Codes. Demonstrated commitment to employee health and safety.

Must be able to read, understand and develop single line diagrams.

Competencies

Must be able to read and understand P&IDs

Must be able to read and write in English.

Must be able to read and produce electrical sketches.

Must understand units of measure and weight and perform conversions.

Must be knowledgeable of single phase and three phase electrical formulas and comfortable using them.

Ability to communicate with courtesy and tact when furnishing or obtaining information from both fellow workers and other departments.

Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and computer knowledge including a working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

Must possess excellent attention to detail.

Must be a self-starter with the ability to work with a minimum of supervision, is highly motivated, energetic, and enjoys working as part of a team.

Must be able to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical equipment and instrumentation (process control valves with pneumatic, analog and digital controllers, various transmitters such as level, pressure, temperature, flow, conductivity, PH)

Be familiar with control loops and DCS control loop schemes.

Trouble shoot 480/120 ac down to 24vdc control circuits and schemes.

Install new electrical equipment including wiring and conduit to applicable codes. This includes directly supervising electrical contractors.

Support inventorying of equipment as well as spares for electrical, instrumentation and maintenance department.

Perform duties while following NFPA 70E regulations and National Electric Codes. Demonstrates strong knowledge of NFPA 70E safety requirements with a proven track record in following these requirements.

Knowledge and experience with transformers, single phase and three phase; 480V Disconnects and Motors, MCCs, Control Valves, Lighting, Heat Tracing, Controllers, and Control Systems.

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment and systems.

Maintain plant spares inventory, obtain bids and order specific spares.

Other duties as assigned.

Provide housekeeping duties.

Comply with plant policies and procedures.

Perform all tasks in a minimal supervisory environment.

Complete and maintain safety, quality, and ISO documentation and records.

Be a proactive integral Safety Team member, proactively eliminating hazards and promoting a Zero incident Safety Culture.

Employees are frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee is occasionally required to climb stairs/ladders (including vertical).

Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.

Must be able to work in confined workspaces.

Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision.

Must be “fit for duty”.
