Texas, United States of AmericaJob Family Group:Production and Manufacturing DownstreamWorker Type:RegularPosting Start Date:Business unit:Downstream and RenewablesExperience Level:Experienced ProfessionalsJob Description:What’s the Role?Shell Oil Products US, a subsidiary of Shell Oil Company, is a leader in the refining, transportation and marketing of fuels, and has a network of approximately 6,100 branded gasoline stations in the Western United States.Shell is seeking numerous Process Operators to join us at the Deer Park Refinery.Responsibilities:The Process Operator is responsible for monitoring, controlling and conducting activities that pertain to unit operation and taking corrective action when necessary to ensure that all unit conditions and operations are in compliance with Deer Park safety, environmental, and operating policies and procedures.Typical duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Ensure strict compliance with Deer Park's safety policies and procedures, taking immediate corrective action in the event a potential issue or unsafe behavior is observed

Ensure proper shift turn-over by providing effective written and oral communications to the relieving shift and technician that cover routine and non-routine issues, problems faced, unit operating conditions

Active monitoring and accurately recording temperatures, pressures and rates of flow for upward or downward trends

Maintain good communications with other team members and with other facility teams (utilities, Logistics)

Ensure that operations are within environmental requirements

Perform required preventative maintenance and assist in troubleshooting potential issues and give assistance to others when unit problems occur

Make sure to document efforts in accordance with policies and procedures

Utilize computer systems to access and update plant and unit information and procedures

Active assuming personal accountability for meeting Deer Park’s standards of continuous personal and professional development

Participate in training and respond to emergency situations as required

Active in complying with all operating policies and procedures

Ensure that work stations and the work location is clean and free of hazards

Other responsibilities as assigned

Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer

Must have a bachelor’s degree in Process Technology or Associate of Applied Science in Process Technology

Willingness to comply with all Shell safety rules and processes

Willingness to support Shell's policy of a drug-free work environment

Must be at least 18 years old

Willingness to work a rotating shift schedule (including nights, weekends, holidays and overtime)

Willingness to work at extreme heights, climb ladders, and to walk up and down stairs with or without accommodation

Willingness to work outside in inclement weather with or without accommodation

Must be able to use computers in a work environment

Individual pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity.For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave to birthing mothers, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents.Additionally, employees are eligible for disability leave for up to 52 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay. Shell also offers other compensation such financial reimbursement for adoption, wellness, education, and personal learning expenses, and some roles are eligible for discretionary long-term incentives.
