Patients withcritical injuries or illnesses are treated in one of our 41 Emergent Care Rooms. Next stop trauma designation!

Our emergency care nurses, paramedics, employees, and physicians on the medical staff receive continual training in the use of specialized lifesaving equipment and techniques.

Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred

Other - CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required

RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire required

BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required

ACLS – within 90 days of hire required

CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 days of hire required

1 year experience as a Registered Nurse required

2-3 years of ER experience preferred

TNCC – Trauma Nursing Core Course within 12 months of hire required

ENPC - Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course within12 months of hire required

PALS - within 90 days of hire required

What You Will DoDelivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

Assesses the patient

Plans the care of the patient

Intervenes as appropriate

Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions

Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.

Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information

Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
