Assist with all facets of sponsored programs, gifts, endowments, grants and contracts.
Review new award documents and modifications for relevant terms, conditions, and changes and apply award-specific terms, funding agency requirements, and university policies to ensure proper use of funds.
Process transactions through various accounting systems following established deadlines after a thorough review and interpretation of the substance of each transaction. Maintain adequate documentation to support each transaction.
Provide assistance to department administrators and staff on matters related to sponsored programs, gifts, endowments, grants, and contracts. Work closely with the Office of Sponsored Programs, Contracting, and Institutional Advancement to fulfill all gift, grant, or contract responsibilities.
Work with department leaders and staff to research and resolve special accounting issues and requests.
Build and maintain a knowledge base of university, federal, state, local and private agency policies and procedures.
Serve as a resource in explaining a wide variety of sponsored programs funding mechanisms including grants, contracts, sub-contracts, fixed-price contracts, and gifts to department administration and faculty.
Interact with Principal Investigators (PI) regularly to ensure the financial aspects of the award are proactively led.
Advise PIs on all aspects of awards, including complicated or unusual projects, award setup, modifications, extensions, etc
Assists faculty and staff in developing, preparing, and overseeing budgets for proposals, contracts, sub-contracts, and other agreements.
Adhere to all TTUHSCEP policies, procedures, and processes.
Personally demonstrate, display, and act in accordance with TTUHSCEP’s values (Service, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement, and Teamwork). Actively promote and encourage staff across the institution.

Financial management experience and research administration experience, including award processes and/or post-award management.
Experience in fund accounting, Banner Finance, and IBM Cognos.
Proficient in interpreting complex financial data and financial statements.
Proficient in reconciling, analyzing, and financial reporting.
Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
