Summary

The Corporate Accounting Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the Accounting Department; working with the Controller. The Accounting Managers principal area of responsibility will cover full oversight of, but not limited to accounts payable, payroll, cash management, accounts receivable, revenue recognition, general ledger, inventory, fixed assets and balance sheet reconciliation for full month end reporting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include: (But are not limited to)

Oversight of the daily Accounting Department activities and the adherence to and implementation of internal controls, processes and procedures.

Oversight of the accounting team.

Responsible for the periodic close (month-end, quarterly and annual) ensuring that all financial information is captured in the accounting system, ensures that company financial records are maintained in compliance with company policies and US GAAP (General Acceptable Accounting Practices), accuracy of the information and the close timelines are met.

General ledger reconciliations; preparing reconciliations, reviewing reconciliation of other, and making sure all are completed on time with documented support “ filed in designated monthly folder for Controllers review.

Responsible for all manual accounting entries to ensure accuracy and acquire monthly approval of all manual entries from Controller.

Work with IT team to provide support for accounting system and accounting related projects.

Obtain a level of proficiency to provide software (Truckmate) support to all accounting users.

Manage merchant accounts, payments, W9s, tax exempt forms, auto-pay set-up and oversight.

Banking activities; bank reconciling items, banking fees, ACH payments, AP (Accounts Payable) Vendor payment oversight and positive pay exceptions.

Submit an invoice copy of all invoices posted to the balance sheet (i.e., prepaids, assets, etc.) in monthly Controller review file.

Oversight of drivers pay, company employees payroll and auditing process.

Management of accounting department records and supporting documentation.

Weekly Cash Forecast to include known future payments (Tax payments, Distributions, etc.)

Assist the Controller with:

Create work plans for the Accounting Department to establish clear expectations and timelines. Oversee the planning and follow through of goals, development and training for department staff.

Preparation and analysis for annual review to be submitted to Controller for approval prior to submission to 3rd party.

Compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations and taxing authorities “ provide list of all known tax/license/etc. to include entity, manner of filing, access information, due date and responsible party.

Perform other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises Accounting Administrative Coordinators. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience as an Accounting Manager

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - (Excel)

Experience working with Accounting Systems

Strong customer relationship skills

Preferred

Certified Public Accountant Designation

Supervisory Experience

TruckMate System Experience

Education

Bachelors Degree in Finance or related field
