Mission StatementThe mission of The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is to eliminate cancer in Texas, the nation, and the world through outstanding programs that integrate patient care, research, and prevention, and through education for undergraduate and graduate students, trainees, professionals, employees and the public.The mission of the Supply Chain Alliance / Strategic Services Group is to leverage our strengths across UT System to create new value through business efficiencies, by enabling cross-campus collaboration projects, governed by participating institutions that save money and improve quality.Position Summary - Associate Director:The purpose of the Associate Director position is to provide skilled leadership to a team of Contract Managers with a principal focus on sourcing, contracting, category strategies, customer relationship management and supplier relationship management. The sourcing will consist of goods, equipment, and/or services for all UTS and Affiliate Institutions. Interacts with customers; internal and external, and institutional stakeholders in identifying strategic sourcing opportunities via spend analytics. Position reports to the Executive Director and impacts every UT System or Affiliate customer that utilizes the Alliance agreements.Key Functions ·Manages Sourcing and Contracting team in daily tasksProvides guidance in developing request for proposalsSupport contract negotiationsContract administration supportAffiliate member management supportGroup Purchasing Organizations management supportAssess aggregation spend opportunitiesEnsures compliance with state regulatory requirementsConduct market intelligence of GPO landscapeReporting on analytics and strategic sourcing opportunitiesCollaborates/Partners with AD peer, Alliance leaders, suppliers and institutional stakeholdersDirect, plan and coordinate recruitment, resource management and team performance managementTeam player that embraces effective communication, servant leadership, active listening, accountability and respect for others.Other duties as assignedWorking Conditions· This position requiresNoYes· Working in Office EnvironmentX· Working in Patient Care Unit (e.g. Nursing unit; outpatient clinicsX· Exposure to human/animal blood, body fluids, or tissuesX· Exposure to harmful chemicalsX· Exposure to radiationX· Exposure to animalsXRequired Education:Bachelor's degree in Science, Healthcare, or Business-related field.Preferred Education:Master's degree in business, management, hospital administration, supply chain management, or related field.Experience:

Required Experience: Eight years of managerial experience in strategic sourcing or contract management. Successful completion of the LEADing Self Accelerate and/or LEADing Self Discover programs may substitute for one year of required supervisory or management experience. Completion of both programs can be substituted for a maximum of two years of supervisory or management experience.

Preferred Experience/Skills: Minimum 10 years of progressive managerial experience leading strategic sourcing, contract management, vendor performance functions, strategic operational planning within the healthcare or academic arena. Analytical and supply chain data driven. State procurement experience is a plus.

License/Certification:CTCD (Certified Texas Contract Developer (State of Texas) and CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) must be obtained within 18 months of employment.Work Schedule:100% remote anywhere in Texas. No out of state.
