Manage diverse design projects, including pole replacements, Make Ready Engineering, reliability programs, URD design, and new residential services. Support engineering with design reviews, interpret field data, conduct site visits, and ensure adherence to project standards and training requirements.

Provide support to engineering staff with preliminary designs, including reviewing and revising designs.

Interpret sketches and field data to ensure accurate project execution.

Conduct on-site visits when needed to document and take notes on existing facilities for project scope.

Adhere to project-specific processes, company standards, and complete any necessary training, depending on the project or client requirements.

What You'll Have

Associate's Degree in a related field.

Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; AutoCAD or MicroStation; Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam required, with Map 3D, AUD, and Civil 3D desired.

At least 1-2 years of related experience.

Must be detail-oriented, with the ability to learn new skills/programs.

General aerial and underground distribution knowledge.

Good working knowledge of NESC.

Self-starter.

Advanced written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently with moderate supervision or as part of a team.

Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail.

Ability to develop basic knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of technical plans, drawings, and models.

Ability to work with governing offices to locate Right-Of-Way (ROW) lines, if needed.

Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD 2004 or higher.

Proficient with Microsoft Office products, Google Earth Maps, and routine office equipment.

Ability to solve unique problems and develop methods, systems, policies, or services that significantly impact company objectives.

Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Supervisory Responsibility:

Self-supervision over assigned project tasks.

Training/Certifications:

Bentley or Autodesk Certified training.

Experience:

1-2 years of CAD-related experience in design.

Distribution design.

Gas design.

Work Environment

Work is typically performed in a regular office setting.

It’s possible some time will be spent out in the field and on business travel (up to 35% of the time).

Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds.

May require working overtime as needed.

Must have reliable transportation.

Frequent activity: Sitting, Viewing Computer Screen, walking in the field, documenting notes on tablet, or paper.

Occasional activity: Standing, Walking, Bending, Climbing, Reaching above Shoulder, Pushing, Pulling
