The inpatient Stem Cell Transplant & Cellular Therapy unit is a 48 beds Unit. We perform around 800 transplants per year, about half of which are comprised of Allogeneic cells from sources that include matched identical, syngeneic, matched unrelated, haploidentical and cord blood donors. Stem Cell Transplant is a potentially curable treatment for many types of cancer, particularly hematological diseases such as leukemia, lymphoma and multiple myeloma. Nurses on the inpatient units are responsible for the primary care of the SCT patients including the administration of the preparative chemotherapy regimens, infusion of stem cell transplants and other cellular therapies, such as Chimeric Antigen Reactor T-cells (CAR-T), administration of supportive intravenous and blood product therapies during the engraftment period, and patient and family teaching up to and including the patient's discharge to the outpatient setting.Ideal candidate will have graduated from an accredited school of professional nursing, TX RN license; BLS, CPR and OCN certifications. One year of recent RN experience in Oncology, Hematology, BMT and Chemotherapy preferred working in an Inpatient Setting.Shift will be 7am-7pm, with rotating weekends and holidays required.MD Anderson offers our nurses:

$8,320 annual inpatient differential, paid $346.67 per paycheck

Trains, coaches and assists team members to ensure optimum patient care and efficient use of resources.EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.EXPERIENCE: No experience required. All clinical nurses with less than one year registered nurse (RN) work experience will be required to participate in the Clinical Nurse Residency Program.LICENSURE: Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license (RN).
