MISSION STATEMENTThe mission of The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center is to eliminate cancer in Texas, the nation, and the world through outstanding programs that integrate patient care, research and prevention, and through education for undergraduate and graduate students, trainees, professionals, employees and the public.SUMMARYThe primary purpose of the Grant Program Coordinator position is to provide administrative support for all research grant post award activities. JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIESGrant Support/Reporting Coordination Maintains schedule of clinical/basic science research proposals and projects.
Establishes tracking of milestones and timeline for each project.
Creates new award activity files, maintains copies of project documents and assures that copies of all project documents are provided for the departmental grant's files.
Prepares and maintains a tickler file of internal and external grant progress reports, continuation deadlines, and financial reporting deadlines.
Provides comprehensive coordination of grant awards including progress reports submissions.
Post Award ProcessingCoordinates post award activities for all clinical/basic science sponsored projects and multi-project awards including P01s, R01s, R21s, U54s, T32s, IRGs, cooperative group and private industry agreements.Follow up with grants and contracts to ensure timely set up of awards or that advanced set up is implemented. Ensures all budget categories are set-up accurately in Peoplesoft in accordance with sponsor budget.Monitors clinical trial activations, patient accruals and funding timelines.Responsible for the creation of course data log and invoicing tables for private industry agreements.Coordinates and ensures record completion of patient activity with Pediatric-Patient Care Clinical Trial regulatory and data teams.Serves as coordinator for all patient remuneration processes, including establishing budgeted activities in Peoplesoft, record maintenance with Pediatric Patient Care Clinical Trial regulatory and data teams, and reconciliation of accounts.Coordinates reconciliation of EPIC research charge activities, CTRC Lab payments, GPM invoicing and any other additional external IDT activities between clinical research finance and the Pediatric-Patient Care Clinical Trial regulatory and data teams.Creates and tracks invoicing of and payment by various vendors/sponsors.Effort Reporting/Closeouts Assists in the correct and timely salary allocation on all assigned grants.Assists in preparing of notification or requests for approvals for changes in effort and funding. Participates in close out activities.Other duties as assigned.REQUIREMENTSRequired Education: Bachelor's degree.Required Experience: Three years of extensive administrative experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one year basis.
