Job SummaryMust have experience with large Horizontal Boring Mill (Giddings & Lewis). Set up and operate all manual lathes, mills, boring mills, vertical lathes, drill press and surface grinder. Perform all operations necessary to produce parts to exact tolerances for products or equipment. Check work for conformity to specifications. use of precision measuring equipment. Must be able to read complex drawings. Employee will work with mechanics as requiredResponsibilities and Duties

Read technical instructions, blueprints, and sketches for the repair / fabrication of parts and or machinery.

Install or repair machinery, equipment and parts

Adjust and align moving parts

Replace defective parts of machinery as needed.

Fabricate parts using lathes, mills, ect as needed

Coordinate with Shop Supervisor to plan and complete general assignment

Qualifications and Skills

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Machinist Certification or Millwright Apprenticeship.

Machining5+ years

KnowledgeMust be able to read and write English. Must have thorough knowledge in the preparation of and use of mills, lathes and manual machines. Must be capable of machining and fabricating parts per blueprints, BOM, and sketches. Must be able to hold to tight tolerances per print specifications. Able to read and interpret blueprints. Must be knowledgeable in assembling parts, machining, quality control and safety. Thorough understanding of all company safety and environmental practices. Strong quality focus. Strong team player. Must be reliable, dependable, able to work overtime as required and work under minimal supervision. Requires strong math skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide, algebra.
